Rio Salado Trail Run: Course Information:
About the 15K Course, 10K Course and the 5K Course
The 15K, 10K, and 5K are mixed terrain looping courses with varying elevations and are approximately a 50/50 split between paved and dirt paths. The trails wind up and down along and across the Rio Salado Salt River and its banks. Each consists of paved and dirt paths with a few small jaunts across areas of the river basin containing river rocks. These courses are a perfect way to enjoy the beauty and wildlife of Rio Salado, a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Phoenix, Arizona.
You have 3.75 hours to finish the 15K, 10K or 5K.
You may register to use a sports strollers, Running chair, hand cycle, sports wheelchair, walker, or cane on any course, and will start with the runners and walkers. Please position yourself behind faster runners at the start line so that everyone gets off to a good start. When choosing to use one of these apparatuses, please keep in mind that these courses are on trails with different terrain and elevations.
You may also register to run or walk with a leashed pet on the course, and when doing so must adhere to all park pet custodian rules including keeping your pet leashed at all times, immediately cleaning up after your pet, and properly disposing of its waste.
Each course may vary slightly on race day and will be well marked to help keep you on course.
